One of many piles of reused metal fence sections at Urban Ore
A great idea for cost-effectiveness in Zone 0—reuse metal fence sections or other architectural fixtures!
If you have a ‘wick fence’ - a wooden fence attached to a structure where they need to replace the connection of the fence with the structure with something non-flammable - Urban Ore (900 Murray St, Berkeley, near Ashby & 7th), has a large number of salvaged metal fence sections in their outside lot. The picture above is just one of 7-8 such piles that I saw when I was there. In addition, they have a lot of tiles and rock that could be used in Zone 0 (in the outside lot as well).
Be sure to check out the huge puppets, etc. they have on top of the shelves inside as well.
