The weekend of May 30-31 is the first Creston Firewise “Prepare For Fire Season” weekend, with a potluck picnic and socializing Sunday @ 4:00pm!
Clean-up - you can:
- Get rid of your brush and debris, and prune your shrubs and trees
- Clear your Zone 0 and Zone 1 to comply with the new 2026 fire code
- Pile all your branches in front of your house and book a chipper day pickup (detailed instructions below)
- Discard your leaf litter, raked debris, or limbs larger than 8" in your green bin
Picnic - 4:00pm Sunday at Susan’s, 986 Creston Rd, food, socializing, and fun activities!
- Bring food to share for 6-8 people
- Bring your chairs, plates and utensils

Detailed instructions for vegetation removal
- Chipper pickup is ONLY for vegetation: no building materials, lumber, rocks, metal—vegetation only
- Chipper pickup, in front of your house, can take limbs up to 8" in diameter, but no loose leaves or debris, bamboo, roots, soil, rocks, or any construction material (it would damage the chipper)
- Chipper pickup must be in the form of a well-shaped pile, less than 30’x5’x5’ (size was increased for this event)
