Do you know your evacuation zone?
Berkeley is divided into very granular evacuation areas. Evacuation orders are given zone by zone.
To find what your evacuation zone is, go to Genasys Protect and enter your address, then write down your zone number where you will not forget it.
After that, load the Genasys Protect app and subscribe to alerts, so as to know when your one is under evacuation warning or order.
If you get an evacuation order, evacuate right away. This is an order than can be enforced.
If you get an evacuation warning, consider evacuating right away. Remember that there is not enough road capacity for all in Berkeley Fire Zones Zone 2 and 3 to evacuate at once, and that, if everyone waits for a fire before leaving, some will die.
