AC Alert (“Alameda County Alert”) is “the Mass Notification System used by City and County agencies throughout Alameda County to rapidly disseminate emergency alerts to people who live, work in, or visit our County.” [Alameda County]

AC Alert is a notification system. You sign up for it on the web, and get text and email notifications when they occur, based on your signup address.

The City of Berkeley and BFD recommend that you sign up for alerts with AC Alert. Because it is an Opt-In system, you must

  • register with the AC Alert system
  • with your current address (since the system only sends alerts that concern YOU)
  • with your current cellphone number(s) and email address

You can monitor the status of AC Alert notifications by going to the general AC Alert notification page. The proper way to use it, though, it to sign up for notifications.

Sign up for emergency notifications with AC Alert today. Don’t forget to read Berkeley Fire Weather and Evacuation Page.
